Our heli-skiing guests generally fly into Calgary International airport. From there, 7-day guests take a coach to our lodge, other guests usually rent a vehicle, or hire a transfer, at the airport and drive to the lodge.
All guests should be sure to arrive at Calgary International Airport no later than 1:30 pm Mountain Time to allow enough time to get to the lodge before dinner. International travelers are advised to arrive the evening before to avoid jet lag and in case of delays, customs or baggage problems. If you arrive in Calgary the day before we recommend staying at the Sheraton Cavalier, call 1-403-291-0107, we also recommend the Delta Airport Hotel, 1-403-291-2 ext: 6347. Ask for “Great Canadian Heli-Skiing” rates when making reservations to get a discount.
If you have booked a 2 to 5-day trip you will need to arrange your own transportation from Calgary to the lodge. The best thing to do is to rent a car at the airport; from there it is a direct 3.5-hour drive west along the Trans-Canada Highway to the lodge. View our printable map with driving directions. If you are not accustomed to winter driving conditions we recommend choosing a larger vehicle with 4 wheel-drive in case of snowy road conditions. It is also possible to take a taxi or limo service to the lodge.
Guests who have booked a 7-day trip can take advantage of our complimentary coach service that picks up guests on Saturdays at the Sheraton Cavalier in Calgary at 1:00 pm and at Calgary Airport at meeting place “C” (in the International Arrivals gate area) between 1:30 and 2:30 pm. The bus departs at 3:00 pm at the very latest and arrives at the lodge in time for dinner.
International guests are advised to arrive in Calgary the evening before, due to the greater possibility of flight delays, being held up in customs or baggage problems.
