Quality Control

There are some jobs you just have to do hands on. GP gets out with Steve, Carl and Greg to do a little quality control inspection. Check this video out and see if you agree with GP's "all systems go" grade.

For some heli-skiing is a contact sport, for this group pool and heli-skiing are contact sports. The scars will last a lifetime.

Projectile

The boys collect some airmiles heli boarding at Great Canadian Heli-Skiing. They always landed, its how they landed that remains in question.

Club Heliski

Forget the south, Great Canadian Heli-Skiing is the place to go for sunshine and refreshments. The Hoff week skied in style and rolled out the carpet with some first descents with a new run called "Its all about me". Tells you how spoiled one can get when the sunshine and snow revolve around your presence.

Township 7 Found

Township 7 is a place, then a wine, now its a state of mind. The boys from OZ travelled across the sea to find township 7 and what they got was a whole load of heli-skiing instead. Good Times.

Little Mo Flapping

Jeff and his son Mike team up with Mo and his son Robbie (little Mo) for an epic day of deep powder heli-skiing. The runs were deep, the landings were soft, and the laughs were endless. How do you know they're having a good time, just watch little Mo's ears flap.

DR. ICE says its NICE

One word to describe this video, "NICE!". From Germany to Alberta, San Fransisco to the UK our international crew mixed it up from bowls to trees, sunny alpine days to cloudy tree days. The heli-skiing and the camaraderie was lets say NICE once again.

Woohoo Yahoo!

No its not the mating call of the sasquatch, its the sound of heliskiers in the forest. From deep powder turns to questionable drop/obstacle courses to cooling down the guide this group had it all.
If you didn't notice we were blessed with a guest appearance of sparks, he is known from epic ski movies including the "Great Canadian Heli-Skiing Promotional Video". If you didn't notice you just need to come visit us and you will find out in the first 5 minutes of being here. Yeah sparky!

Almost like skiing in Minnesota except the mountains are a little bigger and the snow a little deeper.

The Bonzai boys take the Selkirks. From last minute departure dashes to the premier appearance of Paul the guide, the heli skiing was fast, the skies were blue and the crowd were there for a good time, not a long time.

Township 7

Sid and the gang came for the township 7 and they got a little skiing in to. With Terry as one of their guides he would not steer them wrong for today he suggests township 7, ski wherever you want. Lots of laughs, great food and friends, and of course a little township 7. Oh yeah the skiing was great too.

Added: January 15, 2008
Brad, Kevin, Cotton and Keith go heli hucking to heli hijinx at Great Canadian Heli-Skiing. What a day! Deep powder, no penalties, just an addiction to fester for the next 51 weeks of the year.

REVIVAL Jan 10 2008

One thing that happens allot around the backwoods of BC is that it snows. Hayley, Kevin, Keith, Cotton and Brad go looking for some buck tooth sasquatches, but all they could find was some deep cold white smoke, powder snow that is. More snow on the way more heli-skiing videos to come.

White Gold - Jan 6-7 2008

The sun came out for a couple days of fantastic heli-skiing. With stable blue skies and incredible cold snow the guides made a dash for the Gold River. The only way to end a great day of heli-skiing is to keep the party going on into the evening. Thanks for the tunes Todd and Tom.

Great Canadian Heli-Boarding

Snowboards dictated the welcoming of the new year at Great Canadian Heli-Skiing. Below is a video of the Canadian Boys and Colorado Girls snowboarding. The conditions were deep and we had some featherlight snow days. Although snowboarders are so often blamed for scraping snow off the slopes, these boarders were feeling very generous as they left while another storm came in. It was like they were never here, except for the on and off hill stories they left behind.

BURN - December 30th

A video of Greg, Tom, Jon, and Terry heli-skiing burn yesterday. Excellent skiing in the trees. The day was mostly skiing in the trees with the skies cloudy and snowing. Woke up this morning to blue bird skies. Should be fun getting up higher in the mountains and seeing the surrounding views.

Santa Comes to Great Canadian Heli-Skiing

DR Deep - Heli EmergencyzoomGP HeliskizoomThe Day Before Christmas had us skiing some deep powder 30cm + from the last storm, not to mention the couple of storms before that. High winds in the alpine kept us in the trees on runs like 40 Watts, Miller Time, Love a Logger, Twilight Zone, Magic Mushrooms, Smoke and Hunter. As you can see from the pictures there was no shortage of face shots. Great Start to the year.

Merry Christmas 2006

Dave Going DeepzoomRon Going DeeperzoomEventhough its July and Christmas is 6 months ago I thought I would share one of my best heli-skiing days.

Christmas Day 2006 will no doubt go down in my books as one of the best days of skiing in my life. I think I had as much fun as Kobe playing with his new Thomas the
Tank Trainset.

This was really the gift that kept on giving as the abundance of December and January snowfall provided for the best overall heli-skiing year since our purchase of Great Canadian Heli-Skiing 2000.

I have attached a couple of photos I took of Guide Dave Rutherford, showing us the goods, and our guest Ron showing us how to go deeper.

Family Day

Great Canadadian Family DayzoomHeliskiing PorterszoomEvery year all of our staff and their families get together for a day of hel-skiing. It is an incredible way to celebrate all the hard work that goes into an exciting yet busy season.
Whether its the skiing, the pond polar dips, topless descents, or family ski groups, the day leaves me thinking "what a special group of people to be sharing life with"...
